Sequoia Cowl - Free Crochet Pattern

If you need a quick cowl pattern to make for gifts or craft shows, this Sequoia Cowl pattern is just the thing! Scroll down for the pattern! 



Materials:
J hook (6 mm)
Worsted Weight yarn #4 (I Love This Yarn)

Abbreviations (US terms):
Ch - Chain
Sl St - Slip Stitch
HDC - Half Double Crochet
FHDC - Foundation Half Double Crochet
HDC3rdloop - half double crochet in the 3rd loop
Sk - Skip
TRC - Triple Crochet


Instrucions:

1. Fhdc 72, sl st to 1st st to join.
2. Ch 1, hdc3rdloop in ea st around. Sl st to join.
3. Repeat round 2
4. Ch 5 (counts as trc + ch 1), *sk next st, trc in next st, ch 1* Repeat around, sl st in 4th ch to join.
5. Ch 1, hdc in ea st and ch 1 sp around.
6. Repeat round 2
7. Repeat round 2

Repeat rounds 4-7 until you reach desired height for cowl. I did 4 total repeats.

Finishing
Cut yarn, weave in ends. If you used wool yarn, I recommend blocking your cowl.
